Spring 2021 Courses
During Spring Quarter 2021, Health Informatics courses will remain online due to COVID-19. Please see below for the most up to date information on the program courses.
Class Schedule: Monday and Wednesday, 2:10-4:00pm
Lectures
- Lectures will be synchronous
- Attendance at synchronous lectures will be required
- Some lecture material will be recorded and made available to students
Discussion Sections
- Discussion sections will be offered both synchronous and asynchronous
- Attendance at synchronous discussion sections is required
- Some synchronous discussion material be recorded and made available to students
Exams

- Exams will be administred as online midterm and final exam, a group project and presentation
- Midterm and final exams will be scheduled and held via Canvas. Group project will b take home and presentation will be scheduled
- Students in different time zones will have to option to take exams in their own time zone if requested
- Students are not required to have their webcam on during exams
Additional Course Logistics
- Weekly scheduled office hours will be offered, as well as on-request appointment via Zoom and phone
- A webcam/microphone is required
- If possible, it is preferred that students have their webcam on during the course
- Specific software is required for this course, but most is open source. Students will also be required to have EHRGo license.

Exams

- No exams are required in this course, however several timed quizzes will be administered through the Canvas course site.
Additional Course Logistics
- Office hours will be conducted by appointment.
- A webcam/microphone is required to have an interactive online discussion during class
- If possible, it is preferred that students have their webcam on during the course discussion
- No additional specific software is required for this course

- No additional required discussion sections are required outside of weekly lecture slot.
Exams
- No administered exams are required for this course.

- Students are typically required to have their webcam on during the course
- Students are expected to have access to Zoom and the UCDH VPN for hands-on projects

- Attendance at synchronous discussion sections is required
- Synchronous discussion material be recorded and made available to students
Exams

- Exams will be administred as online quizzes, a presentation and final paper
- Final will be scheduled and weekly quizzes will be via Canvas
- Exams will be "take home" as they are administered in Canvas and student will have several days to complete
- Students in different time zones will have to option to take exams in their own time zone if requested
- Students are required to have their webcam on during the presentation portion of the exam

- A webcam/microphone is required
- If possible, it is preferred that students have their webcam on during the course
- Specific software is required for this course, but all is contained within the course

- Lectures will be synchronous
- Attendance at synchronous lectures will be required
- Lecture material will be recorded and made available to students

- Discussion sections will be offered both synchronous and asynchronous
- Attendance at synchronous discussion sections is not mandatory
- Synchronous discussion material be recorded and made available to students on Canvas course site
Exams

- Exams will be administred through the Canvas course site
- Midterm and final will be scheduled . Weekly quizzes will be availabe in Canvas as "take home" exams
- Take home exams will be administered to students in Canvas and timed.
- Students in different time zones will have to option to take exams in their own time zone if requested
- Students are not required to have their webcam on during take home exams
Additional Course Logistics
- Weekly scheduled office hours will be offered, as well as on-request Zoom appointments
- A microphone is required and webcam is preferred for office hours
- It is preferred that students have their webcam on during the course
- Specific project management sotware is required and open source.
