What sparked your initial interest in the UC Davis ENT program?
I was really impressed by how much I enjoyed my interviews with all the faculty. They were all so unique, accomplished, approachable and fun to talk to. Everything Northern California has to offer was a huge bonus!
What is your favorite aspect of the program?
The pleasant culture and collegiality. Operative volume and diversity of cases is exceptional.

Lindsay Olinde, M.D.

Hobbies: Running, waterskiing (or anything outside), and ballet (now, I mostly spectate, but grew up dancing every day!)
Fun Fact: If I'm not working, I'm working out. I love meeting (or doubling) my step goal.

The well-rounded nature of the department, and I enjoyed every faculty interview and could see myself working with all of them.
What is your favorite aspect of the program?
The camaraderie. My co-residents are all amazing humans. They are people I can learn from, work with and have fun with!

Global health focus and cleft lip/palate surgery.
What is your favorite aspect of the program?
Although hard to focus on one favorite aspect, what I love most is the balance between breadth and depth of expertise in all the sub-specialties. This provides for a large volume of cases starting early on with mentorship directly from experts in the field. I would be remiss if I did not also mention the fellowship amongst the residents and cohesiveness as a group.

I felt that the people I met during my interview day were the type of people I wanted to spend the next five years of my life working with.

Our program coordinator. She is like a second mom to all of us. That, and we get great surgical training.

Cleft lip and palate, and trauma.

I have the best co-residents who have become like family!

Having lived in California as a kid I was interested in pursuing my residency training in the West Coast. As I began looking into Sacramento and UC Davis more I was amazed by the diversity of training and the balance this program has to offer. Completing my AI rotation here sealed the deal!
What is your favorite aspect of the program?
The sense of family within the program!

The faculty had clearly carefully considered every aspect of my application and clearly cared about me as an individual.

This program has a great sense of community - the residents and faculty are very supportive of one another.

What sparked your initial interest in the UC Davis ENT program?
I knew some folks who did an away rotation here as a medical student, and they could not stop raving about the level of autonomy even at an early time point. That, AND everyone is incredibly nice!
What is your favorite aspect of the program?
There’s a sense of camaraderie here between the residents. Everyone is working hard to achieve their personal best while also playing their role as a member of the squad. Each person offers a unique strength and we all complement one another (no matter the PGY level) to get the job done... usually in time to grab breakfast in the morning.

I was fortunate to complete an away rotation here and immediately was drawn to the culture and strength of its surgical training. It was an easy decision for me to want to stay here.

The faculty, residents, and staff at UC Davis are second to none - it is an incredible environment to grow as a surgeon and person.
