Philosophy of Care
Dr. Greenhalgh's philosophy of care is for the early treatment of the burn with goal to optimize the functional and cosmetic outcomes. He will take the extra steps to ensure that the ultimate outcome is as close to normal as possible. He will also follow the patient for as long as needed to ensure the best results.
Clinical Interests
Dr. Greenhalgh manages all aspects of burn care, whether minor or major, from the initial resuscitation to reconstructive surgery. He takes care of all inpatient needs, including critical care, and specializes in excision and skin grafting of the wounds. He will also manage any massive wound and will perform reconstructive surgery of burn scars.
Research/Academic Interests
Dr. Greenhalgh's research focuses on understanding the response to injury and how we can manage that response to improve outcomes in burn patients. In particular, he focuses on the cellular response to stress and infection, the effects of resuscitation in burns and how early treatment improves scar formation. He is also involved in many aspects of improving burn prevention.
