UC Davis Children’s Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a designated Level IV nursery for the Sacramento region. Its special care nursery is a Level II-designated unit for children who are seriously ill but expected to recover more rapidly.

In cooperation with pediatric experts across UC Davis Health, the pediatric neurosurgery service provides advanced clinical care and surgical intervention for infants and children suffering from diseases that affect the developing brain, spinal cord and peripheral nervous system. Our service includes subspecialty-trained pediatric neurosurgeons.
Under the guidance of the UC Davis Department of Otolaryngology, our clinics offer compassionate support from initial evaluation through surgical repair and recovery. Specialists offer advanced training and capabilities in pediatric head and neck conditions, including surgery for congenital anomalies.

The Pediatric Heart Center at UC Davis Children's Hospital is inland Northern California's only full-service cardiac care facility for children and young adults, offering the latest tests and treatments for a range of congenital or acquired cardiovascular conditions.

UC Davis Children’s Hospital and Shriners Hospital for Children of Northern California offer one of the largest and well-known spina bifida programs in the nation.
Multidisciplinary clinics that include physical medicine and rehabilitation, pediatric urology, pediatric orthopaedics and pediatric neurosurgery in one comprehensive clinic. Each of these services offers individual clinics at Shriners Hospital and UC Davis Health. Clinics are staffed with social workers and nurses with expertise in spina bifida.
