You involve everyone
After seeing her brother receive stellar care, Natalie reflects on what made the nurses so special.
He had a couple that were just really helped him a lot. They knew exactly what to say and they knew... But he also had a few that were, had been there a long time and but he had a he had a couple that were real special, real special.
The big thing is, what nurses recognize is that it's treating the whole family. You involve them when you're talking about what's going on with the care, you're explaining the procedure, what to expect, if they have a spouse or a significant other at the bedside, you make eye contact with them, have them sit with you if it's okay with the patient.
